Project Goal To reduce the incidence of illness among children by teaching them simple hygiene practices.

Target Audience 4 to 10 year olds, prone to share germs with those around without being aware of the negative consequences. They generally want to please and do right, especially if being informed and directed by someone they can relate to.

Positioning Statement For kids who have colds or cold symptoms, this Critter Campaign will resonate because a message about improving their hygiene and the health of their friends is being delivered by playful characters from a kid’s world.

Measuring impact

Presentations in all Whitehorse Elementary schools have been extremely successful. "Not only was it fun and entertaining, the material was very age appropriate," said one grade 5 teacher. Kids are still seen weeks later sneezing into their elbows. A DVD of the presentation will be in the communities next month.
