We’ve got a fresh new face in the office! So, as is our tradition, we set out to discover more about our latest addition (hey, that rhymes!), and share with you our findings. So, without further adieu – meet Mia, aasman’s newest administrative assistant.
JS: How long have you lived in Yukon?
MT: I was born here but moved back and forth between the Yukon and Saskatchewan with my family until we finally settled down here during Grade 4.
JS: What trait do you have that defines you as a “Yukoner?”
MT: Honestly … I’m a terrible Yukoner. I hate the cold! Every year I think the winter will get easier, but it never does.
JS: What was one thing that interested you in working for aasman?
MT: The creative aspect and work environment. You also have a very good reputation.
JS: That’s nice to hear. What's the best trait you bring to your work here at aasman?
MT: Eagerness to learn new things and adapt to new situations, as well as my bubbly personality.
JS: For sure. I’ve known you for three days and I can already vouch for your cheerful personality. What’s one place you wish you could travel to next?
MT: The Philippines! My husband and I want to go there for our honeymoon. It’s so beautiful.
JS: You’re married?
MT: Yes, I got married last summer here in the Yukon. I’ll eventually move to Texas where he’s from.
JS: Congratulations! What are your favourite tunes to work to?
MT: Country. I’m a country gal all the way!
JS: Ha ha, I guess that’s a good thing when you’re married to a Texas cowboy. Any special hobbies you have you’d like to share?
MT: I’m musical and enjoy playing the guitar and piano. I also dabble in photography. I like painting and drawing too.
JS: Wow, lots of hobbies. Amazing. What’s something you are looking forward to about our long Yukon winter?
MT: Even though I hate the cold I love the aesthetic of the winter. Winter is gorgeous and it’s a cozy time of year.
JS: You might not know this yet but here at aasman we have strong opinions about chips and we need to know what your preferred flavour of chip is.
MT: For a long time, about 17 years of my life, I preferred originals but recently barbeque chips have become a favourite.
JS: Mm-hmm, another original fan! If you could pick a different era of history to live in, which would it be?
MT: The 1960’s. They have a funky style but mainly because of the music.
JS: If you had to describe your personality using an emoticon, which emoticon would you pick?
MT:
